BREAKING NEWS REEL

I started my career as a multimedia journalist in a quick-paced, local newsroom. In this role, I created daily video content that I researched, wrote, shot, and edited myself. I worked closely with producers and management to air each story on at least four of our six shows. Additionally, I was required to live report in the field on multiple breaking news events, including local protests following George Floyd’s death. I was also sent to live-report on severe weather events like Hurricanes Delta and Zeta in 2020. Each story required extensive social media updates on the station’s various platforms. I then converted each piece into a story suitable for digital audiences.
